This lovely human is finally having his brain surgery today. It's been a long stressful wait (2 cancelled surgeries) and he's been nothing short of amazing throughout it. Please send all of the postive vibes and love to him. Sam you rock 🖤

We are sharing this post by one of the best humans we know cause he is going through some shit right now. He has a gnarly bastatd of a tumor in his wonderful head and is off to be separated from it next week. He has been nothing short of amazing through all of this and has somehow managed to keep working and not have a breakdown. Sam we love you. Good luck in surgery. Break a leg?

Short version: if you have hearing problems, get checked out.

I've had tinnitus for years. I've always put it down to playing in the greatest band in the world and going to gigs without hearing protection when I was a teen. But last year my tinnitus got louder, I could hear crackling like a broken electrical circuit and the hearing on my left got worse; so I decided to see my doctor.

In August I had an MRI done and a few weeks later a doctor called and said they had actually seen something - an Acoustic Neuroma AKA a benign brain tumour.

This week I saw a neurosurgeon and he showed me this fuck off massive beast in my head and let me know it's an even rarer version as it's growing cysts. I'm a winner, baby. The options originally were monitor it, radiotherapy or surgery, but after seeing it they're opting for surgery.

The tumour is pressing on nerves & distorting them. These nerves include hearing, facial movement, swallowing, tongue movement and arm movement. The left side of my face isn't as sensitive. If I shake my head like my glorious old videos I get incredibly sharp pains. My eye sometimes feels a bit lazy.

The surgery will make me go deaf on my left side and throughout the 6-8hr procedure they need to keep testing to check my face isn't paralysed. Afterwards I'll likely be off balance and may have the other issues.

Luckily I have people around me being incredibly wonderful and/or making horrible jokes with me. Sometimes this all feels very surreal & I don't know how I feel, other times I am beyond terrified and want to break down at the thought or brain surgery, deafness and my face being paralysed. Perfection frozen in time...
